We represent patients before the First-tier Tribunal (Mental Health) and at Hospital Managers meetings where patients detained under the Mental Health Act 1983 can seek their discharge. We help with complaints handling, human rights issues and other areas often linked to a person’s detention under the Mental Health Act 1983 as well as providing representation in County Court proceedings in relation to Nearest Relative displacement applications.
We also have an established history of conducting Judicial Review cases in the High Court, Court of Appeal and Supreme Court.
The vast majority of our clients in this area of law are entitled to free Legal Aid funding from the Legal Services Commission.
