At Guile Nicholas Solicitors, we pride ourselves on ensuring that all our paralegals and trainee solicitors achieve the highest level of advocacy possible. Our internal training programme is designed to test our fee earners in all aspects of case management, obtaining instructions from clients and managing their own cases in order to prepare them for assisting clients before the Hospital Managers and representing clients before the First-tier Tribunal (Mental Health) panels (once accredited). Training includes advocacy skills, evidence analysis, cross-examination techniques and mock hearings in which staff participate.
It is a lengthy process, which involves observing multiple Hospital Managers and Tribunal hearings conducted by our Mental Health Accredited panel members. In turn, they are themselves observed by the head of our Mental Health Department until they are felt able to represent by themselves.
We currently employ twelve Mental Health Accredited panel members who have been approved by the Law Society to have high knowledge of mental health law.
